This is a packet of research information I have compiled with quotes from various sources of medical, psychological, and experiential evidence that transgenderism does not resolve the underlying problems and is ultimately harmful.
- Quotes from detransitioners from a Reddit forum called detrans
This forum has over 44,000 (as of the creation of this page 02/26/23) members, all of whom are supposed to be detransitioners, desisters, or those questioning their transition. No one is allowed to troll or comment without declaring themselves to be one of those three categories. While there are doubtless some who are members under false pretenses, the moderators work hard to ensure that the forum is only for those people. It is likely, then, that there are thousands of detransitioners and desisters on this forum. I have combed through many posts of trasition horror stories, deep regret, and suicidal ideation after transition therapies and surgeries.

SUMMARY: Lowering legal barriers to make it easier for minors to undergo cross-sex medical interventions without parental consent does not reduce suicide rates—in fact, it likely leads to higher rates of suicide among young people in states that adopt these changes. States should instead adopt parental bills of rights that affirm the fact that parents have primary responsibility for their children’s education and health, and that require school officials and health professionals to receive permission from parents before administering health services, including medication and “gender-affirming” counseling, to children under 18. States should also tighten the criteria for receiving cross-sex treatments, including raising the minimum eligibility age.
- Transgender people on hormones face seven times higher risk of stroke and increased risk of heart attack: Study
A new study has found that cross-sex hormones used by transgender people to treat gender dysphoria are correlated with dramatically increased risks of stroke, heart attack, and blood clots. “Cardiovascular Outcomes in Gender Dysphoric Patients Undergoing Hormone Replacement Therapy,” conducted by lead author Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed, who is a third-year resident at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Darby, Pennsylvania, found that transgender people who had taken cross-sex hormones experienced “nearly seven times the risk of ischemic stroke (a blockage in a vessel supplying blood to the brain), nearly six times the risk of ST elevation myocardial infarction (the most serious type of heart attack) and nearly five times the risk of pulmonary embolism (a blockage in an artery in the lung), compared with people with gender dysphoria who had never used hormone replacements.”
- Methodologically Flawed’: Key Studies That Inspired Trans Medicine Don’t Hold Up, Doctors Argue
American doctors picked apart the methodology and key conclusions of two Dutch studies which formed the basis for modern pediatric gender medicine by claiming to observe improved mental health for patients who underwent sex changes. The Dutch studies only included the most successful cases of individuals undergoing cross-sex treatments and excluded the experiences of those who dropped out of the study over time, creating a bias towards participants who reported positive experiences, according to the new, critical study.”

"After years of feeling uncomfortable with his male body, Billy finally came up with a solution: he underwent sex reassignment surgery to become the woman he had always felt he was. However, the change didn’t bring him the relief he had sought, and neither did it solve any of his problems. After seven years of being a woman, Billy reverted back to being a man.
Rene Jax was born and raised as a male. She used to dress as a woman before she actually took the plunge to become female. The hormone therapy and breast augmentation that followed didn’t satisfy Rene. Gender dysphoria – the condition of feeling disconnected from your sex – persisted. Now at the age of 58, she says her gender reassignment was a mistake, merely cosmetic surgery.
Walt Heyer felt trapped in his male body. In 1983, he finally became Laura Jensen. He believed it was a genetic disorder that had caused his gender dysphoria. However, it wasn’t until he had reverted back to his original sex that Walt realised his issues stemmed from the trauma of sexual abuse. He now counsels people who are considering gender reassignment.

Puberty Blockers: What Parents Should Know

Dr. Karl Benzio describes what puberty blockers are, why they are currently being prescribed to children, but explains why doctors should not be prescribing them to gender dysphoric children. *** NOTE at one point the interviewer asks if he recommends that parents who have a gender confused child put them on puberty blockers (1:45 running time). He mispeaks saying, 'Yeah' as we sometimes do in processing our thought. His next word is 'So,' I came to this conclusion because he makes it VERY clear at least twice later in the video that he does not think children should be put on puberty blockers.
